Petrozavodsk is the capital of Karelia. Karelia
is a republic of Russian Federation. It is situated in the North of
the Western part of Russia.
City of Petrozavodsk stands on the shore of
Onego Lake. Onego is the second-largest lake in Europe. It is connected with
five seas via rivers, channels and other lakes. These five seas are
the White Sea, the Baltic, the Caspian Sea, the Black Sea and
the Mediterranean. That is why Petrozavodsk is often called "the Port
of Five Seas". Big amount of ships from Karelia sail all over the
