If you arrive to Petrozavodsk by ship, the first
thing which you will pay your attention to, is the embankment of Onego
Lake. Its length is over two kilometres. The embankment is created
from stone - Karelian granite of different colors - and concrete. A lot of
people usually walk along the shore of Onego Lake in weekends,
holidays and hot days in summer. The embankment is decorated by about
ten monuments, gifted to Petrozavodsk by its sister-cities from
various countries. Some cafes and bars stand on the embankment, also.
