With a team of 20 husky dogs one could cover very long distances per one day, on snow and on ice. Kizhi is one of the oldest Russian historical-architectural and ethnographic open-air museums and the most visited international tourist sight in Russian Karelia. A lot of tourists from Russia, European, American, Asian and African countries get acquainted with the traditional country culture of russian, karelian and vepsian peoples, in Kizhi. The base of the museum exposition is an outstanding monument of the folk art, Kizhi architectural ensemble, included in the UNESCO list of world cultural and natural heritage monuments, in 1990.
