Snowmobile Tour “Over the Land of Karelia” (2 days) In the very heart of Russian Karelia (North-Western Russia), during the snowmobile travel around Svyatozero lake, you’ll meet real wonders. These are the creations of frost and the hand-made ones of architectural craft: wooden houses and chapels, northern Vazheozersky monastery. You will get acquainted with the karelian hospitality and the karelian cuisine. The tourist group is led by an experienced guide, the modern snowmobiles are easy to drive. Comfortable guest-house and hot sauna are waiting for the tourists in the end of the day. (valid for winter season 2007-2008) Day 1 Meeting of the guests in Petrozavodsk city Transfer to the start point of the tour, the tourist centre near Lososinnoye lake (20 kilometres) Breakfast Getting the equipment. Getting the instructions on safety measures and snowmobile riding 12.00 Beginning of the tour along the forest track: Lososinnoye village – Rabochy Poselok – Svyatozero village – Manga village (90 kilometres) Lunch en route (hot tea with sandwiches) Accomodation in comfortable Manga guest-house. Sauna. Supper The guest-house is situated in Manga village, on the river bank. The village has preserved the typical look of a northern karelian settlement. Big two-storeyed karelian houses, built in the end of the XIX-th – beginning of the XX-th centuries form the line along the street.
