Days and dates of operation: Every Thursday and Saturday. From 17 May till 30 September
(valid for year 2007)

6 a.m. or 8 a.m.: Departure from Petrozavodsk city to Sortavala town (minibus, bus 240 km)
Boarding a motor ship or a hydrofoil in Sortavala and sailing to Valaam archipelago (Ladoga Lake)
Valaam excursion which includes:
  1. the central building of Valaam Monastery with the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, the Church of the Assumption, the Church of the St. apostles Peter and Paul
  2. the old monastery cemetery
  3. concerto with singing of church hymns
  4. dinner in the canteen of the Monastery
  5. the Resurrection Church
  6. chapels and other memorable sights of Valaam
The duration of this excursion on Valaam is approximately 5 hours

Boarding a ship or a hydrofoil on Valaam and arrival back to Sortavala
Departure from Sortavala (minibus, bus)
11 p.m - 01 a.m.: Arrival to Petrozavodsk city

Price: 3,000 rubles per person (for summer season 2007)

Note1: The price may be changed by our company and depends on the cost of the tickets for the motor ship/hydrofoil, price of the excursion on Valaam

The price includes: transport services, tickets for the motor ship/hydrofoil, guide service, Valaam excursion (including dinner in the canteen of the Monastery)

The price excludes: interpreter's services, tickets to / from Petrozavodsk city

Note2: In case of some unpredictable circumstances, some of the services included into the tour programme may be changed by other services, equal in price.

Note4: The possibility of the tour (i.e. days and dates of operation) depends upon weather. The possibility of visiting Valaam Monastery depends upon the Russian Orthodox Church, also
