Every group of the images has its own particular features.
These are the number of stone canvases in the group, the plot of them,
technics of "drawing", etc. Every petroglyph is unique and requires special
attention.
The content of the stone images is rather unusual. More
than half of them is birds, mainly, waterfowls. The quantity of
forest animals, such as mooses, deers and others, typical for hunter stone art
is small - about one hundred.

One can note, so called, solar and lunar signs,
among extraordinary figures. The whole number of these signs is about 90. Earlier, they were
considered to be the images of hunting traps, but nowadays the majority of
scientists thinks these are symbolic images of the Sun and the Moon.

Solar and Lunar Signs and, Probably, a Wizard

Some humanlike images, boats with rowers, etc.
are present, also.
The "triad" from Besov Nos cape is the "visit card" of the
petroglyphs of Onego Lake. This "triad" includes three symmetrically located
figures - a demon, an otter (a lizard?) and a burbot (a sheatfish?). It seems that these are the
most ancient stone images and they had been the center of sanctuary for a long
time.
