   Petrozavodsk city is the capital of Karelia, a republic of Russian Federation. The city stands on the shore of Onego Lake.

   One can get to Petrozavodsk via Moscow or Saint-Petersburg. You can get here from Moscow and Saint-Petersburg either by plane or by train. The most comfortable train from(to) Moscow is called "Karelia".
